Dixie, Corpus, 1970
I love this. It’s my first real best friend, Dixie DuBois, posing in our (award winning) back yard in Corpus Christi, Texas. I got a camera on my 10th birthday & judging by the date on the photo, this is probably from that first roll of film. Sadly, Dixie was killed by a drunk driver when she was just eighteen — so she’ll always be around this age to me & it’s how I’ll always remember her.
